Reeling Balls and Parties

Reeling differs from other genres of Scottish Dance in that it is somewhat more eclectic. Dancers are expected to be familiar with the dances prior to attending a Reeling Ball or Party as there is no instruction once the dance commences.

On this basis, Reeling cannot be considered entry-level dancing. Should it be required, the bandleader of The Highlanders will provide a ‘walk-through’ prior to the dance as an aide-memoire.
